WARNING! Spoilers for THOR: THE DARK WORLD!

Major, MAJOR spoilers!

SO MANY spoilers SO BIG that they will absolutely RUIN the movie for you if you haven't seen it yet!

... Still here? All right then.
Without further ado, I present "Howl at the Sky"

-----------------------------------------

I'm running late, I'm running late, I'm running late...
How, how how HOW, can a girl like her be running late for Thor: The Dark World?
She parks, shuts off the car, and runs through the parking lot. Brown, low-heeled leather boots that reach a few inches past her ankle slap against the pavement. Black leggings provide the warmth her shorter-than-knee-length black skirt would not. A long-sleeved, patterned green t-shirt is visible under the short-sleeved, loose-fitting, see-through black sweater. Gold glints from her earrings and the bracelet on her left wrist. The long green scarf draped across the front of her neck and down her back streams behind her like Loki's cape.
Of course, that's the idea.
She is a proud member of Loki's army.
Brown eyes are frantic behind blue-rimmed oval glasses, her face paler than usual. Thick brown hair, nearly long enough to sit on, blows back in the cold November air.
She cannot be late.
She hands over the $4.50 for her ticket, skips the concession stand--she hasn't bought movie concessions in years, the prices are insane--and heads straight into Theater 6. To her relief, the promos are still running and the lights are still up.
Her first surprise is that they've remodeled. Big, comfy recliners have replaced the old theater seats. The second surprise is that the theater is nearly empty; two elderly women sit in a row near the back, and a family sits farther forward than where she would be comfortable, but there is no one else. Considering the movie's success, she had expected more people. She even checks the sign outside. A big number "6" and Thor: The Dark World. It's the right theater.
She takes advantage of the lights being on to claim her favorite seat; dead center, just close enough but not too close. She settles on the recliner, spreads her scarf around her like the cape it is meant to imitate, and waits.
As the promos play, her mind wanders to the Avengers OC she us developing. Faye Lann, Avenger name Fenrin Wolf. Faye looks like her, but doesn't wear glasses. And she's older--mid-twenties--to make both her status as an Avenger and her relationship with Loki more believable.
Faye is a speed fighter, stronger than a normal human, fierce, with an assortment of weapons and wolf-related abilities. She can't become a wolf, but she can move as fast as one, has wolf-sharp senses, can grow wolf fangs, and becomes as ferocious as a wolf in a fight. Her uniform is black and brown--the reason she wore brown boots rather than black ones to the movie--but she also dons green when not working. A nod to Loki, of course.
The lights dim, and she sucks in a breath. This is it.
Her heart constricts painfully at the sight of Loki in chains. She silently curses Odin, certain he no longer loves Loki or thinks of him as a son. She knows from the trailers that Loki will get out, but it still hurts when it's happening.
Loki confuses her for most of the rest of the movie, though several moments elicit clearer emotion. She is pained by Loki's grief at Frigga's passing, and finds it very wrong that he is not allowed to attend her funeral. She laughs at his antics, changing his and Thor's appearance (and the snarky comments that accompany each transformation) as well as his reaction to Jane punching him and his hilarious backseat driving. She smiles when Loki says he is impressed that Thor lied to him. She is shocked by Loki's sudden betrayal, and and sighs in relief when it turns out to just be part of the plan. She panics when it seems Loki may be sucked into one of the imploding grenades, and sighs again when Thor saves Loki's life.
When Loki stabs the Kursed to save Thor, she smiles.
Her heart stops when Loki is stabbed.
If she hadn't been in a movie theater, she would have screamed.
No. No, no, NO!
LOKI!
Her brain is a messy jumble, simultaneously in shock and denial as she tries to focus on the exchange between Thor and Loki. No, he can't be dying, he can't...
Loki's face is ashen, and he lies still.
No. This isn't happening! NO!
As Thor screams his grief, she can see Faye there with them. She's wearing the gold Asgardian armor Loki had made for her, the helmet designed with the ears and fur pattern of a wolf. Faye kneels by Loki's side, her hands on his arm as she dry sobs, her face contorted horribly, teeth growing into wolf fangs.
Faye throws back her head and howls at the sky. Only when the mournful call has ended to the tears come.
She sits through the rest of the movie with her scarf/cape wrapped around herself. She still smiles or laughs at certain scenes--Darcy and Ian making out takes the cake--but she is waiting for the moment when something happens seemingly out of nowhere and, seconds later, Loki appears, alive, well, and smiling that God of Mischief smile.

But he doesn't.
Thor walks away from Odin, the family of four now two, and those two seemingly divided.
The movie ends. The credits roll, her heart twinging whenever a sketch of Loki or Tom Hiddleston's name appears on the screen. She stays all through the credits and sees both tags, desperate for some hint of Loki's survival, but none comes.
The lights come up. She stands, hugs herself, and makes for the door, staring at the ground.
Her friends were right. The movie did hit her right in the feels. And she spent $4.50 on it.
Still hugging herself, she steps outside and looks to the horizon. Gray clouds cover every inch of sky. A storm is coming.
Fitting, she thinks as she hugs herself even more tightly, tears beginning to leak from her eyes. Thor is mourning, as is Midgard.
As am I.

She squeezes her eyes shut, then throws back her head and howls at the sky.

At least, that's what she would have done if Loki really was dead.

Thor walks away from Odin, and her face lights up like a child at Christmas.
Loki!
He's alive!
She knows that he's up to something, that she should probably be worried, but all that she can feel is shock relief, and joy.
Loki lives!
The credits begin. She grins each time a sketch of Loki comes up, and applauds quietly at Tom Hiddleston's name. She does not miss the mention of the Infinity Gems in the first tag, and she quickly connects the dots.
Infinity Gems, Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos--who was the one manipulating Loki in The Avengers.
Either Thanos could be the villain for the next Avengers movie... or they may have just confirmed the next Thor movie.
And a new Thor movie means more Loki.
She stays through the next tag, and her hopes for another Thor movie grow higher.
The lights come up. She stands, smiling, fixes her cape/scarf, and strides out of the theater. She notices the gray clouds that cover every inch of the sky. A storm is coming.
Fitting, she thinks. Thor is mourning. He does not know that Loki still lives.
Still smiling, she climbs into her car, her mind already working out how Loki may have faked his death and how Odin may have fallen into the Odinsleep once more, thus allowing Loki to take his place.
At any rate, Loki has lived to appear in another movie.
But he is NEVER allowed to die on her again!
This is based on my experience watching The Dark World. I know it's not really a fanfic, but I really wanted to share it.
Yes, that's really what I wore to the movie. Yes, that's really what I look like. Yes, Faye is my OC. Yes, I would have howled at the sky after the movie (though I would have waited until I got home). Yes, there were gray clouds covering the sky when I got out and I thought that thing about "Thor is mourning."

Disclaimer: I own the main character of this oneshot, Faye Lann/Fenrin Wolf, and my own original thoughts regarding the situation. All names, titles, characters, and concepts belonging to Marvel belong to... well, Marvel.

:D That was so cool!
I felt the same way while watching Thor 2--I nearly died when Loki was stabbed--and when he showed up, I was smiling--a kid at Christmas exactly! Thor 2 was my Christmas!
