I’ve seen a theory online that interprets the song “Immortals” from Big Hero 6 as Tadashi’s spirit talking to Hiro after Tadashi’s death. While I find the theory interesting, after reading it, I actually started hearing the opposite—as Hiro, during and after the events of the movie, talking to Tadashi. Here’s how it applies:

They say we are what we are, but we don't have to be.     Hiro is more than a bot fighter, Baymax is more than just a healthacre robot, and Tadashi and his friends are more than just "nerds."

I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way.     Hiro acts out and breaks rules, but his intentions are (usually) good, and he's becoming a hero.

I'll be the watcher (watcher) of the eternal flame.     Can be a reference to both the fire that killed Tadashi and Hiro continuing on/making his friends heroes in memory of Tadahsi.

I'll be the guard dog of all your fever dreams.     Hiro remedies his mistake with Baymax and never makes him break Tadashi's programming again, helps Tadashi's friends achieve their dreams, and rebuilds Baymax after the original is lost between dimensions, keeping Tadashi's dream alive, no matter how crazy people thought the idea was or how hard it was for Tadashi to build the first Baymax.

I am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass     Tadashi's time is up, but Hiro's not going to just give up. Hiro is going to be Tadashi's legacy.

I try to picture me without you but I can't     I think this one is pretty self-explanatory. No matter what, Tadashi is always on Hiro's mind.

'Cause we could be immortals, immortals/Just not for long, for long.     Tadashi will live on in Hiro. Hiro and the others may not actually live forever, but they will be remembered forever for being heroes, and they will never forget Tadashi! And of course, as we see in the credits, a new building is opened at the college and named after Tadashi. He may be gone, but his memory will live.

And live with me forever now     Again, Tadashi may be dead, but Hiro will never forget him and will always keep him close.

You pull the blackout curtains down     "Blackout Curtains" were a safety measure used to keep homes invisible from the sky during air-raids. Hiro was aways safe with Tadashi. Through Baymax, Tadashi is still keeping Hiro safe.

Just not for long, for long.     No one lives forever, but Hiro's going to take advantage of the time he has!

Because we could be immooooooo- immortals,

Immooooooo- immortals,

Immooooooo- immortals,

Immooooooo- immortals.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith/Is when it's tested again and again everyday.     Hiro's faith in himself has been tested more than once in the course of the movie. He also sees someone he looked up to, nearly idolized, turn out to be a villain.

I'm still comparing your past to my future.     Probably self-explanatory. Baymax, the friends from the lab, Callaghan, and the Microbots all had a connection to Tadashi as well. And with Hiro now going to Tadashi's old college and rebuilding Baymax, the ties are only stronger.

It might be your wound but they're my sutures.     Tadashi was killed, but now Hiro is finally healing.

And at that point the earlier lyrics just repeat...

Anyway, what do you guys think? I'm not saying that this was Disney's intent, but it's a cool way to look at it.

Note: If you see someone on YouTube talking about this theory and the username is "FanStoryVideoStudios," that's me. If it's a different username, it's not me.

Never thought of it like that, as I thought it was just a fun song all in all, but I like your theory. :)
